Welcome to Leeds Bereavement Forum

We are a small charity based in Leeds which works to develop and improve bereavement services in the city.

  • We signpost individuals to the most appropriate bereavement service either locally or nationally. You do not need to be referred to us, our service is free and open to all
  • We provide training, information, events and conferences to people who work in the area of bereavement to support their professional development. We work in partnership with organisations across the city to improve the provision of bereavement services and identify gaps in bereavement support
  • We campaign to help people talk more openly about dying, death and bereavement and to make plans for the end of life. We work in partnership with Dying Matters nationally and locally

Training

Leeds Bereavement Forum offers a variety of training on bereavement for both individuals and groups. We are now offering our training online via Zoom – see our training menu for more details.

Our Courses

Our courses can be adapted to suit your organisation’s needs, whether that be a half-day; full day or shorter sessions. Working with the voluntary, statutory and commercial sector, our courses can be run in-house, in a neutral venue or online. Our highly experienced trainers have worked in a variety of bereavement settings including hospice care; learning disabilities; older people; neonatal and still birth; carers and private bereavement counselling.

With a track record that goes back over twenty years, our training receives very positive feedback from participants who find our courses relevant and useful to their work.
