In partnership with Leeds City Council, we offer the following Basic Bereavement Skills sessions for free to Leeds City Council staff, voluntary and community groups in Leeds. We plan to deliver most of these sessions in person, if circumstances allow, and the venue will be: Enterprise House, 12 St Paul’s Street, Leeds LS1 2LE. However, our September session will be online.
This three hour facilitated session introduces you to some of the basic theories about the grieving process and coming to terms with loss. It provides an opportunity for you to explore these ideas and develop your skills and awareness in a small group. The course includes:
- An introduction to bereavement and loss
- An overview of some grief models and theories
- Listening skills and losses exercise
- Signposting to further support
Comments from recent course attendees include:
“I liked learning more about the theories of bereavement and enjoyed the activities, such as active listening and the case study. I think the training was very interesting and useful.”
“This training I would highly recommend for any individual.”
