Elliot’s Footprint is a Leeds-based charity that helps families through child bereavement. They offer help and guidance whilst campaigning and fundraising for improved bereavement services.
Elliot’s Footprint and Forget Me Not Hospice have partnered together to fund a three-year full time Family Bereavement role from 2019-2022 to help families who have experienced the sudden loss of a child. This role is in direct response to their research findings to offer tailored practical support to families in the immediate aftermath of a sudden death.
Sudden death can range from an accident, suicide or a sudden illness etc. Support can range from dealing with hospital processes, organising funerals, benefit support, dealing with statutory organisations, schools and how to access specialist counselling support if needed.
Any professional including GPs Police, Social Workers, Teachers or Mental Health workers can make a referral.
