Bereaved Carers Survey about End of Life Care in Leeds
Share this post
Healthwatch Leeds has been working with Leeds Palliative Care Network to find out about people’s experiences of end of life care for their relative/friend in a hospital, community (including GP surgeries, Leeds Community Healthcare and private care agencies and care homes) and hospice settings. A total of 225 people provided feedback across all the settings.
Key Findings
Overall there were high levels of satisfaction across all services, with care in hospices being rated most highly. The vast majority of people felt their friend/relative had died in the right place. Many people said they had valued the kindness and compassion of staff and excellent care that had been provided to their friend/relative in their final days.
