Leeds City Council’s Leeds Homeshare scheme is for people who are looking for company or help at home – with household chores, gardening or meal preparation. Some people contact Homeshare following a bereavement due to the extra difficulties of running a home alone.
- Individuals are matched with a caring vetted sharer who moves into the home to provide around 10 hours help each week.
- The service is free to householders and sharers benefit from affordable low-cost living.
- Family members often speak of the peace of mind it gives them knowing their relative has a Home-Sharer.
- Ongoing contact and advice is provided throughout and DBS Police and reference checks are carried out.
Leeds Homeshare is part of Leeds City Council and delivered in partnership with: St Anne’s Community Services; Care & Repair Leeds; Leeds Older People’s Forum and Leeds Beckett University.
