Your Voice, Your Decision: Lasting power of attorney campaign

The Office of the Public Guardian (OPG) is launching a campaign in Leeds this autumn to raise awareness of lasting powers of attorney (LPAs). It aims to target harder to reach members of our community, promote LPAs as relevant and accessible for anyone, and is supported by Leeds City Council, the NHS in Leeds and other care partners.
The Campaign
The campaign also aims to promote the benefits and dispel myths about LPAs, and to help frontline professionals to ensure they are aware of LPAs and how they can be used. It will encourage people to start a conversation about their future care so that someone has the legal power to support them should they lose mental capacity. In some cases an LPA can be set up for a reduced fee or no fee at all.
