Baby Week Leeds 2017

Leeds Bereavement Forum are taking part in this year’s Baby Week Leeds.

When is it happening?

Monday 11 to Sunday 17 September 2017

How are we involved?

Look out for our information stand at the launch event on Monday 11 September which we will be hosting in partnership with local organisations providing information and support for miscarriage, still birth and baby loss.
If you are a professional working in this area, you may also be interested in the two day conference (12 and 13 September). Look out for our bereavement presentation on Tuesday 12 September.

What is Baby Week Leeds?

Initially launched in September 2016, Baby Week is an initiative aimed at bringing sectors and services together to promote the best start in life. Funded by Leeds Clinical Commissioning Group, Baby Week was inspired by a research visit to Canela (Brazil) by Churchill fellow Lucy Potter (Founder) in 2014. Originally adapted from the Brazilian ‘Semana do Bebe’, Leeds hosted the first English speaking week last year. The theme for 2017 will be ‘Creating Relationships’.

Who is it for?

There will be events throughout the week for professionals and families aimed at helping babies and young children across the Leeds area to get the best possible start.

Why are we involved?

Leeds Bereavement Forum are proud to be working with our partners in both the health and voluntary sectors to focus on the difficult and emotional subject of miscarriage and neonatal death. We hope to start some valuable conversations around the impact of death in the early stages of life.
