In collaboration with Leeds City Council, Child Bereavement UK has opened a centre in Leeds offering support to children and young people who have been bereaved of a close family member. The service is for Leeds young people up to and including age 18 and their practitioners will meet with them at their schools, children’s centres or a convenient community hub. Additionally, families and youngsters can choose to meet them at their centre on Tunstall Road.
Their services are provided free of charge and are offered by trained bereavement support practitioners.
Supporting Schools
Professionals in schools have a unique role in helping grieving children and young people, as children spend a significant amount of time in school. They can offer support and training to school staff supporting bereaved students.
