The Compassionate Friends was founded in 1969 and is an organisation of bereaved parents and their families helping others through their grief.

It is open to all parents whose son or daughter has died from one month old to an adult child and from any cause. The Compassionate Friends recognises that there is no easy path through the pain and does not offer simple solutions. What it does offer is understanding, friendship, comfort and hope through peer support. Please note that the Compassionate Friends does not offer counselling. It also offers support to grandparents and siblings.

Leeds Bereavement Support Group

The Compassionate Friends  meet monthly, every fourth Tuesday at Garforth Methodist Church from 10am until midday. Join them, for a friendly safe place where they share with others who have also suffered in this way. This group is open to anyone who has lost a child of any age for ANY reason no matter how long ago. Social distancing is currently in place.
