Photography Competition Dying, Bereavement and Remembrance

As part of Leeds Dying Matters Campaign 2019 you are invited to submit a photograph and text which reflects a precious memory or experience of dying, bereavement and remembrance. The subject could be a person, place, object, or abstract composition. This competition is open to people of all ages and will be judged in three categories:

  • 17 and under (parent/guardian consent required)
  • 18 – 55
  • 56 and over

Prizes

The winner of the 17 and under category will receive a £50 high street voucher, and the winners of the adult categories will receive a cash prize of £50. Prizes kindly supplied by Ison Harrison Solicitors.

How to apply

Please submit your photograph with a brief description (no more than 30 words), your name and your age category by email to dyingmatters@leeds.gov.uk using the title ‘Dying Matters photo comp’. Photographs should be submitted as high-resolution .jpeg and must be no larger than 10MB. The extended deadline for entries is midnight GMT on 14 April. Winners will be notified by the 30 April and all shortlisted entries will be on display at the Dying Matters event at Kirkgate Market on Tuesday 14 May.
