In partnership with Leeds City Council, we offer Basic Bereavement skills sessions for free to Leeds City Council staff, voluntary and community groups in Leeds. Due to COVID-19, our face to face training course dates had to be postponed, however, we are delivering some upcoming training sessions via Zoom.
This three hour facilitated session introduces you to some of the basic theories about the grieving process and coming to terms with loss. It provides an opportunity for you to explore these ideas and develop your skills and awareness in a small group. The course includes:
- An introduction to bereavement and loss
- An overview of some grief models and theories
- Listening skills and losses exercise
- Signposting to further support
Comments from recent course attendees include:
“I liked learning more about the theories of bereavement and enjoyed the activities, such as active listening and the case study. I think the training was very interesting and useful.”
“This training I would highly recommend for any individual.”
Our next Basic Bereavement Skills training courses via Zoom will take place on these dates:
- Wednesday 10 February 2021 | 1pm-4pm
